Tony’s story began on the streets of Yakima, where he was rescued and brought to a local shelter. At just 11 pounds, he had plenty of personality—but his nervous barking and growling kept potential adopters at bay. Hoping for a fresh start, the shelter transferred him to Spokane, where he continued to wait patiently through months of meet-and-greets at pet stores and the shelter.
Then one day, everything changed. Brian and Cathryn came in search of a new family member, and Tony—dropping his tough exterior—greeted them with unexpected sweetness and charm. From that moment on, he’s never shown a trace of aggression.
Now living the good life, Tony fills his days with mock brawls against his feline sister Alice (she wins most rounds), yard escape artistry, and professional-level couch snuggling. He’s also an avid traveler who takes family lake trips very seriously—especially his self-declared job of trying to “rescue” his dad from the water. (He means well, we swear.)
Tony’s affection for people extends beyond the home. During office visits, he makes it his mission to greet everyone with a wagging tail and boundless enthusiasm, bringing a bit of joy and comic relief to the workday.
