MEET YOUR ALLIES

Maev Contreras- Social & Human Services Specialist

Maev Contreras was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, but spent the past ten years living in Southern California. She graduated from University High School and went on to pursue a path of service shaped by her strong belief in fairness, advocacy, and supporting the well-being of others.

Maev joined the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school and served on active duty from 2016 to 2020. Her time in the military strengthened her commitment to leadership, service, and protecting the rights and dignity of others. She has always believed strongly in advocating for fairness and in the responsibility, people share to support and protect one another.

In 2020, Maev became a mother and has spent the past several years focused on raising her daughter. She continues to give back to her community through volunteer work and has supported her local church food pantry since 2024, helping provide resources and assistance to families in need.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Maev enjoys baking and creating arts and crafts with her daughter. She also stays active by running with her Belgian Malinois, “Captain”, and practicing yoga in her personal time.

Growing up, Maev was surrounded by the world of social services through her family, which helped shape her perspective on the importance of compassion, advocacy, and community support. Witnessing the impact that dedicated service can have on people’s lives inspired her desire to contribute in meaningful ways and ultimately led her to become involved with Triumph.

A quote that resonates deeply with Maev comes from author Anthon St. Maarten: “Empaths did not come into this world to be victims, we came to be warriors. Be brave. Stay strong. We need all hands on deck.” This message reflects her belief in resilience, compassion, and the importance of showing up for others.
