Kelly was born in Sunnyside, Washington and spent a brief period living in Federal Way during early childhood before returning to Sunnyside, where he remained until 1998. He has lived in Kennewick, Washington for nearly thirty years and continues to call the area home. He is a graduate of Sunnyside High School.
Kelly spent twenty-five years in the automotive repair industry as a brake and alignment technician with Les Schwab. That experience reinforced the importance of teamwork, reliability, and clear communication in fast-paced environments.
Outside of work, he enjoys photography with friends, whether using a camera or flying a drone. He is also a movie enthusiast, PC gamer, dedicated Seahawks fan, and lifelong science fiction fan.
Kelly has always been computer savvy with a strong technical aptitude, which naturally led him toward a role focused on support and problem-solving. In his current work with Triumph, he takes pride in supporting frontline staff and ensuring they have the tools and systems needed to succeed in their work within the community. He values being able to contribute behind the scenes while supporting meaningful, people-focused services.
He is guided by a quote from the scifi show “The Expanse” that reflects his approach to both work and life. “You followed your conscience in the hope that others would follow theirs. You didn’t do it for a reward, or a pat on the head. The universe never tells us if we did right or wrong. It’s more important to try and help people, and to know that you did. More important that someone else’s life gets better than for you to feel good about yourself. You never know the effect you might have on someone, not really. Maybe one cruel thing you said haunts you forever. Maybe one moment of kindness gives them comfort or courage. Maybe you said the one thing they needed to hear. It doesn’t matter if you ever know. You just have to try.”
This perspective reinforces his belief in supporting others with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
