Jorge Garcia was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington, where he proudly honors his hometown roots and the legacy of being a Wenatchee High School Panther. He moved to Spokane in 2012 to attend college and has remained ever since.

Jorge studied Sociology and Women & Gender Studies at Eastern Washington University, where he developed a strong understanding of how society and gender shape people’s lives. His passion for social justice, gender equality, and feminist issues has guided his career and commitment to uplifting communities and advocating for marginalized voices.

He began his career in advocacy as a Diversity Outreach professional with ASEWU, promoting inclusiveness and representation across campus communities. Over the next decade, he expanded his impact through roles as a foster care and behavioral support specialist, offering compassionate care and strategic guidance to those navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jorge leads a vibrant and purposeful life. An avid hiker, he finds peace and inspiration on nature’s trails, and his love of crafting provides a creative outlet. Most of all, he cherishes time spent with family and friends, drawing strength and joy from those close relationships.

While working as a caregiver, Jorge heard about Triumph Community Services through a friend and was immediately drawn to the organization’s mission. Supporting people with disabilities in their daily lives had always been deeply meaningful to him, but learning about Triumph’s work helped him see how he could make an even greater impact. Inspired by the way the organization’s values aligned with his own, he saw a chance to help individuals not just get by, but truly grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Today, Jorge continues his mission of empowerment as a dedicated advocate where he transforms lived experience into lasting social change. His journey reflects a powerful blend of academic excellence, professional dedication, and heartfelt passion for equity and justice.
